Transcript of the Show

Welcome. I’m your hard talking heavy drinking hairball of a horny hedonist host Pariah Burke. And this is the spectacular, massive 300 weekly episode of the hard, heavy and hair show. And because it is number 300, we’re doing something special where playing all triple shots, three songs to a set and all three related by a topic, sometimes fun, sometimes wild, sometimes emotional and always rocking. And we’re doing that for all three hours of the show. Yes, hard, heavy and hair. Number 300 is so big, so massive. We couldn’t fit it in the normal two hour slot and it’s not all music also coming up is my exclusive interview with the incredible metal and hard rock guitarist, Reb beach of Whitesnake, winger, black Swan, and more. That’s coming up on this show right here. So stick around right now. Let’s kick off this giant celebration of 300 shows with the first of many, three songs sets rebellion is the essence of rock and roll.

Skid Row – Youth Gone Wild
Twisted Sister – We’re Not Gonna Take It
Diamante – Coming In Hot

So there were plenty of choices for tracks. When I wanted a triple shot of songs about freedom and saying, the man, what do you think of these choices? Three songs about rebellion and damning the man with DIA Monte coming in hot following twisted sister. We’re not going to take it. And skid row’s youth gone wild saddle up partner. ‘Cuz we’re joining up with a posse o’ metal cowboys starting with this Tesla classic from a fur piece back down the trail.

Tesla – Modern Day Cowboy

Don’t go in your where we’ll be right back with even more cowboy hard rock and heavy metal woo partner.

We’re back in the middle of a hard rock and meadow cowboy triple shot with helix Bon Jovi wanted dead or alive, rounding out a trio.

Helix – Heavy Metal Cowboys
Bon Jovi – Wanted Dead or Alive

A dusty riding cowboy metal include in helix is heavy metal Cowboys and Tesla’s modern day cowboy. And now, and now this particular hairball yours truly is feeling a little out of sorts today, boys and girls, I’m actually in a great deal of pain from well, from being stupid as my Patrion supporters and the hard, heavy and hair heroes club already know, I installed a stripper pole in my house last year, when COVID quarantine shut down all the strip clubs near me, I am a big, big fan of pole dancing as an art form.

I also liked spending time with very good friends. Many are FWBs really who work in that profession. So I installed a pole in my house so we could have some fun during quarantine. Well, last night, during an early celebration of the big, hard, heavy inherit 300th, I had a bunch of friends over all vaccinated, surprisingly, but things got wild, really wild. And let’s just say that apparently stripper poles work best if you’ve shaved your legs, which I hadn’t six feet straight down. Well kind of dropping in a spiral, but not slowing it all naked, straight onto my tailbone. Yeah. That pain you just imagined. I’m not imagining it. Fortunately, one of my dancer friends had on a naughty nurse outfit. Well only one part of it by then, but she still gave me some TLC and mouth to multiple parts resuscitation today. I’m still hurting, but the show must go on.

So here’s three songs about needing some medical attention, starting with calling Dr. Love by kiss three songs about medical care of a certain kind in order that was kissing.

KISS – Calling Dr. Love
Motörhead – Doctor Rock
W.A.S.P. – I Don’t Need No Doctor

Calling Dr. Love followed by Lemmy and Motorhead paging. Dr. Rock who made us realize I don’t need no doctor as performed by wasp covering the Ray Charles 1966 original let’s get with a monoshock 12 songs about sex. First up as a little light kink going down, Whoa, going up. This is Aerosmith’s love. And an elevator

Aerosmith – Love in an Elevator
Guns N’ Roses – Pretty Tied Up
Halestorm – Dirty Work

hailstorm has always been upfront about Lizzie’s predilections. As you can tell in dirty work attract from hailstorm self-titled debut album before hail storm was a [inaudible] inspired, deep cut, pretty tied up from guns and roses. Use your illusion one, which celebrates its 30 year anniversary. This year. We’re having a lot of fun on this 300th episode of the hard, heavy and hair show, but there’s a serious topic I’d like to address in this next three-pack.

Five Finger Death Punch – Boots and Blood
Sammy Hagar – Remember the Heroes
Poison – Something to Believe In

That song always makes me cry. Even if it doesn’t move you as much, if you’re a baby boomer or like me, a gen X or even some older millennials, you know, people like poison was singing about it may even be you veteran’s forgotten buying neglected by even shamed by their government. My dad has worked since nom doing various things for vets. My uncle too worked from the day he got home until agent orange poisoning killed him a few years ago. He worked for veteran’s rights more than 30 years old. And that song still hits me hard before it was Sammy. Remember the heroes. And then before that, like I said, something that got us a little bit fired up boots and blood by five finger death punch, I’m a new I’m going to play you another three song, set something a lot more fun and lively while I recomposed myself.

Thanks for bearing with me. And if you’re a vet, whether you served in war or just peace time or both, or if you’re active military, thank you for your service. Welcome back. See if you can figure out the theme for these three songs

Whitesnake – Hey You (You Make Me Rock)
Winger – Headed for a Heartbreak
Black Swan – Big Disaster

in order that was Whitesnake. Hey, you, you make me rock wingers headed for a heartbreak and the 2020 song, big disaster from black Swan. Do you know what all three of those songs have in common? They all feature the same co-writer and guitarist Reb beach Reb has played with some of the best in the world from Alice Cooper to the BGS Shaka Khan to twisted sister danger, danger to Howard Jones. And even with Roger Daltrey on the lost boys soundtrack, I recently talked with Reb beach by phone

[Interview – Reb Beach]

Unfortunately, that’s all I can fit of the interview. There’s a whole Alder 15 minutes where Reb and I talk about his new signature guitar, his upcoming gigs, how to book your own guitar lessons with this legendary guitarist, more about winger and Whitesnake and so much more visit pariah rocks.com/reb beach or just the pariah rocks.com homepage for that full interview. With the extra 15 minutes, I didn’t have time to air on this show.

Thank you Deseret.

Here’s another triple shot. See if you can figure out the connection between these songs before I tell you in the back intro,

Van Halen – Everybody Wants Some!!
Pantera – Cowboys from Hell
Jackyl – The Lumberjack

that was lumberjack by Jackal, featuring brothers, Jeff and Chris Worley on guitar and drums respectively before it was Abbott brothers Vinnie, Paul Abbott, and Dimebag Darrell Abbott with their band pan Tara on Cowboys from hell. And we started the triple shot with everybody wants some from van Halen featuring yup.

Brothers, Eddie and Alex van Halen. So what’s the connection between those three songs. Brothers are the obvious connection, but hardcore rock fans figured out. It goes deeper than that. All three bands feature, not just brothers, not just brothers that were founding members of the bands, but three sets of metal brothers who play guitar and drums in their respective bands.

Thanks, Dave,

it’s been a little while since we heard music about my favorite topic. So send the kids out of the room, turn lights down low and let’s get nasty. Cause the bullet boys want to go–

BulletBoys – Smooth Up In Ya
Nickelback – Something in Your Mouth
Korn – Beat It Upright

Did you know you were multi-year gas. That was three of them all lined up songs about sex from the bullet boys smooth up in you, Nickelback and something in your mouth. And finally corn laying it all out with beat it up right from 2002. Here’s a joke. A caller Chris be left on the studio line at (503) 395-7257.

Thank you very much for that joke, Chris, if you’ve got a joke or request or dedication or just something you want to say, call me on the studio line (503) 395-7257. Anything you say as wild as you want to make, it just might wind up on the air. I have to stop for a quick station identification, but there’s plenty more hard. Rock metal and hair threesomes coming up

after that last threesome, I think we probably need to get wholesome and swing the needle back to a Trinity of Christian hard rock and metal bands starting with Kings X over my head.

King’s X – Over My Head
Stryper – Honestly
Skillet – Feel Invincible

That was invincible from skillet. Following stripers, honestly hard, heavy and hair is made possible by the hard, heavy and hair heroes, music lovers who pledged just a few dollars a month to help keep the show producing killer content. Like all the music you’ve been listening to.

And my interview with Reb beach last week’s interview with George Lynch and my upcoming interviews with Chez Kane and want to help better yet. Do you want exclusive content only H H H heroes get, how about early access to shows before even radio stations get them? Oh, I know you want awesome free swag become a hard, heavy and hair hero at patrion.com/pariah rocks. And you’ll get all of that and more patrion.com/pariah rocks.

Music has the power to change hearts and minds. It has the power to change the world. And in at least one case music metal music in this case has the power to kill cancer cells. Here’s three songs that in one way or another changed the world, I’ll tell you after the set, which one is, I swear to the gods of rock and roll scientifically proven to help kill cancer cells. First up is a sweeping Epic song that redefined the limits of what a rock band can do And officially broke the three minute limitation on songs that could be played on rock radio. You might recognize this one.

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody

Oh hell no. Yeah. Nirvana changed the world, but not in a good way. Grunge. Here’s a song by a bunch of artists put out of work, at least for a while by that kind of musical and societal change ushered in by bands like Nirvana. This is here in aide with the full length version of stars.

Hear ‘n Aid – Stars
AC/DC – Thunderstruck

Three songs that literally changed the world. First was queen with Bohemian Rhapsody. The band’s record company refused to release what would become Queen’s biggest hit as a single saying it was too odd and definitely too long for radio play, which in those days was limited to three minutes songs. Queen circumvented their label, bringing the song on reel to reel tape to capital radio, DJ Kenny Everett, who played the song 14 times in one weekend in the UK that same weekend.

Paul drew, who ran a group of stations in the U S got a copy of the tape and began playing Bohemian Rhapsody on his stations. The cross Atlantic coordinated stunt created major interest among rock fans in the song and pretty much forced electro records to put it out as a single next, you heard the charity song stars, which was written and organized by Ronnie James Dio, Vivian Campbell, and Jimmy Bain to raise money for African famine relief. That 1986 song includes the voices and music of more than 40 heavy metal musicians. And lastly, but certainly not. Leastly was AC DC’s thunderstruck, which you may have been surprised to hear following two songs whose impact on the world is more or less public knowledge lesser known is the fact that ACDC thunderstruck is scientifically proven to help kill cancer cells. In a 2016 study scientists at the university of South Australia discovered that playing thunder struck while preparing a cancer treatment drug called [inaudible] made the particles jump up and down in a way that extended and enhanced the drug’s effect, making it more effective at killing cancer cells just by playing thunderstruck.

How’s that for bragging rights for Angus young. Yeah. I wrote a song that helps treat cancer. Yeah, my impression sucks. I am not an impressionist. Thank you Anne. Very shortly. I have for you something brand new, the first new music from a sunset strip band, that was part of the scene at the same time as Motley crew wasps brat and the rest of the early eighties, Los Angeles bans. In fact, this band was a talent pool whose members would go on to form rat and play with Ozzy and DEO. Their current lineup includes two classic era members since the early eighties and members of love hate Cagney in the rats and the loyal order in honor of this new music from these eighties metal pioneers, I thought we do the last trio of songs, including the new one with a pair of other LA sound classics.

First up rat round and round,

Ratt – Round and Round
Mötley Crüe – Dr. Feelgood

that was Motley crew, Dr. Feelgood talking about some of the other Denisons of the sunset strip in the eighties. Before we finish out this triple shot of early eighties, LA alums, I’ve got a couple of other things I need to say. If you missed any part of this show, you can stream it though. Full three hour, 300 special show as a podcast on demand 25 hours a day, eight days a week from pariah rocks.com. That’s P a R I a H R O C K s.com. My name is pariah Burke. I’m your hard talking, heavy drinking hairball of old horny host and producer. And I want to thank you for spending this milestone hard, heavy and hair show with me. I also want to once again, thank my very special guest Reb beach lead guitarist of Whitesnake winger, black Swan, and other projects.
