[INTRO]

Still broadcasting from the quarantine zone, and still Rocking your social isolation. You’re about to Rock, and AC/DC salutes you.

—————————————-
AC/DC – For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)
—————————————-

Welcome to the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show. My name is Pariah Burke, and I’m your hard talking, heavy drinking, hairball of a horny hedonist host.

Thank you for joining me.

Did you catch last week’s QuaranTunes show? If you missed it, doctors and nurses strongly advise you check it out. You can stream the QuaranTunes show on-demand from any Internet connected device from PariahRocks.com.

THIS week’s show is also going to rock your isolation, though there isn’t a particular them to the music. Just great Hard Rock, Metal, and Hair Bands from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 20-teens, and today, including the latest new releases, your old favorites, and deep cuts and rare hair.

This is the very latest from Bonfire with the story of my life. This is “The Devil Made Me Do It.”

—————————————-
Bonfire – The Devil Made Me Do It
—————————————-

I’ve got here a public service announcement from one of my listeners to accompany this song request: Ed Ward form Westlake Village, California asks, in light of the inconveniences and dangers created by the Coronavirus, that we, human beings, all remember not to eat or fuck bats! Ok? Can we do that–for Ed? Is it too much to ask that we all just keep bats out of our mouths and our dicks out of bats?

By request for Ed, this is Avenged Sevenfold “Bat Country.”

—————————————-
Avenged Sevenfold – Bat Country
—————————————-

Coming up is brand new Deep Purple, classic Metallica, Hookers & Blow AND a band that, believe it or not, calls itself the same thing!

I love it when I get photos with a request. Amber Victoria sent me pix with her request. By request for Amber whose silky blonde hair blazes in the Arizona sun, it’s Metallica, “For Whom the Bell Tolls.”

—————————————-
Metallica – For Whom the Bell Tolls
Fit For A King – Breaking The Mirror
—————————————-

From Tyler, Texas, that was the very latest release by Metalcore band Fit for a King. The song title was “Breaking the Mirror.”

Ready for your first Cover Song of the Week clue? Remember: the first one is always the hardest.

The Cover Song of the Week is a brand new release by a supergroup that features the long-time Guns N’ Roses keyboardist [bleep] [bleep] and a former Quiet Riot guitarist who has also played and/or recorded with two other Guns N’ Roses members and Jani Lane, Skid Row, Love/Hate, Bang Tango, Beautiful Creatures, and Aimee Allen. The aforementioned supergroup doing the Cover Song of the Week doesn’t write original music; they only play covers.

More and easier clues later.

Let’s slow things down a bit with LA Guns and “the Ballad of Jayne.”

—————————————-
L.A. Guns – The Ballad of Jayne
Deep Purple – Throw My Bones
—————————————-

All new Deep Purple, “Throw My Bones,” something the homebound of us are doing quite a lot of. Throwing bones, playing cards, playing board games like Settlers of Catan and Exploding Kittens, and putting a serious strain on the world’s supply of beer, wine, and liquor.

Speaking of which, my glass is empty. Let’s do a station identification while I peel the crumbling wax off another bottle of frozen Knob Creek bourbon. The bourbon doesn’t freeze, of course, but the wax seal does, and it crumbles into black bits that get everywhere. I’ve got five more bottles in the studio’s freezer here. Maybe I’ll take a minute and rip the wax off all of them.

Get yourself an adult beverage, too, while this station you’re listening to pays some bills. We’ll be right back.

I’ve got two requests on this week’s show from friends in bands. First, the lead singer of Rough Cutt, Steven St. James, asked me to play Hardline’s “Hot Cherie,” which he’s dedicating to his wife Cheri. Here you are, to Cheri from Steve.

—————————————-
Hardline – Hot Cherie
Rough Cutt – You Wanna Be a Star
—————————————-

That was “You Wanna Be a Star” from Rough Cutt following a dedication of Hardline’s “Hot Cherie” by the current lead singer of Rough Cutt to his wife. The voice you just heard was not his–not Steven St. James–but you soon WILL hear Steven’s vocals fronting Rough Cutt’s raw, untamed music. He and the rest of Rough Cutt have been hard at work on new music, and I’m eagerly awaiting it.

This week I also received another request from a friend in a band. Jimmy Berdine is the drummer for Kickin’ Valentina. For Jimmy, this is Icon’s “Out for Blood,” which, as Jimmy noted, was pretty hard for 1985. After Icon is one of my favorite tracks off Kickin’ Valentina’s 2020 EP Chaos in Copenhagen.

“Easy Rider” off Kickin’ Valentina’s new EP Chaos in Copenhagen.

Still coming up is brand new Katatonia, Firewind, Cold, and more, as well as Kiss and Warrant.

Welcome back to the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show with me, Pariah Burke. If I give you a Kiss, can we “Uh! All Night”?

—————————————-
KISS – Uh! All Night
Warrant – Heaven
—————————————-

Warrant and “Heaven.”

Ready for another Cover Song of the Week clue?

The Cover Song of the Week has been played millions of times on the radio, even though it contains a naughty word. At the one-minute, three-second mark, the original vocalist sings “her tits were shakin’ till the middle of the night.” If you happen to be listening to Hard, Heavy & Hair on one of the radio stations that has to bleep out certain words, the word you missed is a four-letter synonym for boobs. AND, if you heard it bleeped out, it’s ironic, because the original 4-letter word IS part of the original lyrics of this Rock song that has aired uncensored under the FCC’s nose since 1982!

In a 2018 interview with Rolling Stone, the singer confirmed the presence of the naughty word, answering the 36 year-old question of “did he just say…?”

So, what acclaimed and popular Rock song features the line “her tits were shakin’ till the middle of the night”? That’s the Cover Song of the Week.

From Sweden, this is the brand new Katatonia, “Behind the Blood.” Just wait until you this killer guitar solo.

—————————————-
Katatonia – Behind The Blood
—————————————-

Wasn’t that a bitcoin’ guitar solo? Former Death Metal band Katatonia going much more melodic with their brand new song.

More new music, more old favorites coming up.

This is Europe, “The Final Countdown.”

—————————————-
Europe – The Final Countdown
—————————————-

Candice Victoria, who owns Diva Cupcakes in Lakeland, Florida, which some escapee friends of mine considered a post-apocalyptic wasteland BEFORE COVID-19 quarnatine, asked me to play Krokus, “Screaming in the Night,” because the video is of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, probably shot in neighboring Bartow.

Here you go, Candice. Crank it up!

—————————————-
Krokus – Screaming in the Night
—————————————-

Krokus on Hard, Heavy & Hair. We’ll be right back with a song you’ll want to share with your significant other.

Ready to get a little mushy? Grab your significant other. This is Bon Jovi “Born to Be My Baby.”

—————————————-
Bon Jovi – Born to Be My Baby
—————————————-

That was Bon Jovi, and this is a double-shot of new tracks–fire and ice, you might say–from the bands Cold and Firewind. First up is “Quiet Now” by Cold.

—————————————-
Cold – Quiet Now
Firewind – Rising Fire
—————————————-

From Greece, that’s Power Metal four-piece Firewind with “Rising Fire.” Greek Fire, you might say. So is one of the stations that airs the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show, Rock Flame Radio rocking the airwaves over Mount Olympus.

Your next Cover Song of the Week clue is after Firehouse and Skid Row. Let’s go down to “Lover’s Lane.”

—————————————-
Firehouse – Lover’s Lane
Skid Row – Slave to the Grind
—————————————-

Skid Row and the title track to 1991’s “Slave to the Grind.”

Ready for your final Cover Song of the Week clue?

The original artist of the Cover Song of the Week sadly passed away in September of 2019 at the age of 70. This working-class Rocker was a mentor for many Rock and Hard Rock artists. In addition to the Cover Song of the Week original form 1982, he took 10 other songs to the Top 40, songs including “Walk On Water,” “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Baby Hold On,” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” The Cover Song of the Week is not one of those four, so you have seven other choices, only one of them includes a naughty word that has slipped past radio censors for almost 40 years.

Think you know who it is? Place a bet with your friends now, ’cause you’ll be putting your money where your mouth is in a minute. The Cover Song of the Week is next.

[COW]

I’ve been promising you Hookers & Blow, but with social distancing, I just can’t bring them to you. But I CAN give you a band called Hookers & Blow, which is nowhere near as good as the real thing, but it’s just another thing COVID-19 has temporarily ruined.

This week’s Cover Song of the Week has the supergroup Hookers & Blow, which includes Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed, former Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi, Robbie Crane from Black Star Riders, Nadja Reed, and drummer Johnny Kelly from Danzig and Type O Negative. They’re covering a song I hope you figured out was originally performed by Eddie Money. It’s a song that has, for 38 years, gotten uncensored radio play, slipping the word “tits”—a four-letter synonym for “boobs” for those hearing a beep on stations that have to bleep that word. Listen for the line “Her tits were shakin’ till the middle of the night” just after the 1-minute mark.

Hookers & Blow obscure the key word in this single, but Eddie Money proudly sings it in his original following the cover. This is “Shakin’.”

“Shakin'” by the great Eddie Money following the Cover Song of the Week, the brand new cover by Hookers & Blow.

Here with the title track to the new album that just dropped on Friday, this is Asphalt Valentine’s “Twisted Road” on Hard, Heavy & Hair.

My name is Pariah Burke, I’m your hard talking, heavy drinking, hairball of a horny host and producer. Thank you for joining me for this week’s Hard, Heavy & Hair Show.

There’s still one more song in this week’s show, but if you missed any of the past almost two hours, you can stream this show, Hard, Heavy & Hair 246, on-demand 25 hours a day, 8 days a week, from PariahRocks.com, that’s P-A-R-I-A-H-R-O-C-K-S-dot com.

I’ll see you back here on this station for another all new Hard, Heavy & Hair Show. Again, I’m Pariah Burke. Thank you for tuning in. The Electric Boys are going to play us off with “All Lips ‘n’ Hips.”
