Exactly. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid. And when I was a kid, I thought it was a good movie.

It’s still a fun movie, though. “Shout It Out Loud” was one of several Kiss songs played in the film.

Let’s do your first Cover Song of the Week clue. Remember: the first clue is always the hardest.

The band doing the hard Cover Song of the Week is virtually unknown unless you happen to be active in the Las Vegas Metal scene. You might, however, know this new band’s lead singer. He was the founder and lead vocalist for Orgy, the Death Pop/Industrial band that made a splash in 1994 with their cover of New Order’s “Blue Monday.” This lead singer looks like he’s trying to replicate that success with this week’s Cover Song of the Week.

That’s your first clue. Easier clues are coming up. So is rare hair from Precious Metal, the band Jack Russell and Mark Kendall were in before they founded Great White, and a song from the guy who turned down the invitation to replace Vince Neil in Motley Crue.

That was Bon Jovi, of course, one of my all-time favorites, “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

In addition to your favorites and mine, this week’s Hard, Heavy & Hair Show includes brand new music from Fear Until Fury, Dismantle, Savage Hands, Warrior Soul, Palaye Royale, Station, and an Iron Maiden member’s newest project.

Rare hair there from LA-based Kik Tracee’s one and only released LP, ’91’s No Rules. Those guys were ahead of their time, singing about butt stuff before it was in fashion, back when most men still had to beg women for it. Now, women ask for it and everyone’s doing it.

Something else Kik Tracee is notable for is their lead singer, Stephen Shareaux. Motley Crue asked him to be their new vocalist when Vince quit and got fired in ’92. Yup. Motley Crue wanted Shareaux to replace Vince Neil. But he turned down the offer. And we all know they kept looking until they chose John Corabi.

Shareaux also auditioned for Velvet Revolver before Scott Weiland. In 2016, he nearly became the new frontman for Stone Temple Pilots.

These days he leads a supergroup called Zen From Mars with Chip Z’Nuff, Bang Tango guitarist Drew Fortier, and members of Flipp and Fear Factory. They even play some Kik Tracee songs live.

You could say Shareaux has a Rock N’ Roll disease, just like Kory Clarke and Warrior Soul, who are back with an album on Livewire/Cargo records. Here’s the title track to that album, “Rock n’ Roll Disease,” followed by Alter Bridge.

Warrant “Cherry Pie,” as if you needed me to tell you, following Thundermother with “Fight Fire with Fire”.

Hey, are you a Great White fan? I like their new music and the live sound with Mitch Malloy singing, but the greatest incarnation of Great White is the 80s lineup with Jack Russell on vocals and the actual Great White himself Mark Kendall on guitar.

Did you know where the name of the band came from? In the late-70s Mark Kendall had almost white blonde hair, played a white Fender Telecaster, and liked dressing in all white clothes and shoes like a member of Angel or the BeeGees. That earned him the nickname of Great White. When it came time to change the name of the band from Dante Fox to something else, they used Kendall’s nickname.

Now you know where the band name came from. You can win bar bets with that bit of trivia.

If you want to HEAR where Great White came from, well, you’re about to. Just released on Cleopatra Records is an LP called The Roots of Great White 1978-1982. It’s the vintage demos Jack Russell and Mark Kendall wrote and recorded as Dante Fox. “The Blues” is the final cut on the 17-track CD available now. The Cover Song of the Week original is by a famous British trio that took its name from a French magazine because the name sounded cool. Originally, before taking on the avantgarde name that translates in English to “fast fashion,” this synth-pop band was called Composition of Sound.

Chew on that while we check out something brand new.

Have you heard of Fear Until Fury? They’re an interesting band that mixes Hard Rock with Rap like Rage Against the Machine while writing songs that have a Doom Metal feel. It’s an interesting mix. Have a listen to their newest single, “Turpentine” on Hard, Heavy & Hair.

Which member of Iron Maiden has a new project with new music debuting on this very show? Find out right after this.

If I say to you the name Steve Harris, what do you immediately think of? Iron Maiden, right? After all, he did found Iron Maiden on Christmas Day in 1975 and, for 20 albums of original material, has been Iron Maiden’s bassist, occasional keyboardist, and main songwriter.

Steve hasn’t only played in or written for Iron Maiden. Back in the early 90s, while touring with Maiden, Steve formed a new group called British Lion. They played mostly 70s-style Hard Rock. Well, nearly 30 years later, British Lion is wrapping up its second album for release in January 2020. It features Steve Harris on bass and, again, chief songwriting duties, as well as lead vocalist Richard Taylor, drummer Simon Dawson, and guitarists David Hawkins and Grahame Leslie.

The album will be called The Burning, and this is the first single from it, “Lightning.”

“She Talks to Angels” from the first and greatest Black Crowes album, 1990’s “Shake Your Money Maker” following the first single from British Lion, the band put together and featuring Iron Maiden bassist and lead songwriter Steve Harris.

Ready for a little rare hair? Let’s female-fronted–HELL, let’s get ALLLLL female–with all-women 80s Hard Rock band Precious Metal. From their self-titled 1990 LP, this is Precious Metal with the song “Trouble,” rare hair from the vaults of the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show.

What 80s Synth-pop band was once called Composition of Sound but changed its name to that of a French fashion magazine? That would be Depeche Mode. If you speak French, like I do, then you knew them immediately from the second clue when I told you their name was French for “fast fashion.”

So, we’ve got the original artist. Who is the covering artist? Who is the new Las Vegas band founded by the lead singer for Death-pop 90s band Orgy? That founder was Jay Gordon, who has also worked with Korn, Linkin Park, and Crazytown. Like Depeche Mode, Jay’s new project, The Savior Complex, has an avant-garde sound, but a Metal/Industrial avant-garde. It’s fitting that they chose to cover “People Are People” and make it their first single.
